Leland Clarke is Associate Professor of Education and
Music at Wheelock College. Prior to Wheelock College in 1994, he taught for 18
years in the Boston Public Schools. He teaches music performance and music history
courses.

This conference is limited and will be filled on a first
come basis. You will earn .5 CEU’s upon completion. There is a fee for this conference. Lunch will be provided. More information to follow.
Title: Intentional Teaching, Mathematics
Broaden your knowledge and experience the fun of early
math learning. By applying the important process skills and knowledge of math
content areas, you will strengthen your ability to provide opportunities for children that will extend their math skills throughout
the day. You will analyze your displays, routines, physical set-up, and materials
to determine if you are providing a math rich environment. You will practice
adding support strategies to engage and challenge children.
EEC Core Competency 5: Learning Environments and Curriculum
Speaker: Linda Schumacher, M.Ed., Early Education and Care Specialist. Linda currently works at the Institute for Education and Professional Development. She has been involved in the early childhood profession for 30+ years.

with young children.
Hop on board for some great songs and musical play! Music and movement are essential to early childhood development. Keep young children and yourself confident, happy, and engaged in music with: 1) a variety of age-appropriate songs and rhymes, 2) a skillful, flexible plan, and 3) musical play that
helps children develop their listening, understanding, and self-expression. “The
Music Box” will be available for purchase.

Betsy has taught singing with children and teachers in
schools for over 20 years. She is the music specialist at The Wellesley Nursery
School. She compiled and published the collection “the Music Box”:
